This policy explains what information RiteSail ("we," "us") collects when you use ritesail.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using this site, you agree to the practices described here.
Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Email address -- if you subscribe to our newsletter or submit the trip-planning quiz with your email, we store that address.
- Trip preferences -- if you use the trip planner, we store the sailing style, budget range, season, and matched destinations you select, so we can follow up with relevant recommendations.
- Session and click data -- when you click a link to one of our charter partners, we record a randomly generated session identifier (stored in your browser's local storage, not a tracking cookie), the page you clicked from, the partner and destination involved, and standard request metadata (browser user agent, referring page). This lets us measure which pages drive bookings and is how our affiliate commissions are attributed.
We do not collect payment information -- all charter bookings happen on our partners' websites, not on RiteSail.
How We Use Information
- To send trip recommendations, deal alerts, or newsletter content you've asked for.
- To understand which content and partners perform well, so we can improve the site.
- To attribute affiliate bookings to RiteSail for commission purposes.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Third Parties We Use
- Supabase -- our database provider, used to store newsletter subscriptions, trip-planner submissions, and affiliate click records.
- Charter and travel partners -- when you click through to a partner site (e.g. Boatbookings, GetMyBoat), that site's own privacy policy governs any information you provide there. See our affiliate disclosure for the full list of partners.
Your Choices
You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link in any email we send. To request that we delete your email or trip-planner data, contact us at hello@ritesail.com and we'll process the request.
Children's Privacy
RiteSail is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "last updated" date above.
